Garage Door Cable & Roller Repair in Fairfield County, CT

The cables and rollers are what keep your door tracking straight and moving smoothly. When a cable frays or a roller wears out, the door can bind, jump the track, or hang crooked, and forcing it makes the damage worse fast. We put it right and check the whole system so it does not come back.

If your door has come off its track, leave it where it is and call. Running the opener against it bends the tracks and can snap a cable.

What we fix

Cables, rollers, and off-track doors

  • Doors that have jumped or come off the track
  • Frayed, rusted, or snapped lift cables
  • Worn, cracked, or noisy rollers that make the door drag
  • Bent or loose track that keeps the door from sealing
  • Doors hanging crooked or catching as they travel
  • A full system check so it does not come right back
A local wear factor

Salt air is hard on hardware here

Towns along Long Island Sound, from Norwalk and Fairfield on the Connecticut shore to the Westchester waterfront, get damp, salty air that’s tough on cables, rollers, and track. Steel cables rust from the inside where you can’t see it, and rollers seize up sooner than they would inland.

We replace the worn parts, realign the track, and lubricate the system so the door runs quiet again. Because an off-track door often starts with a broken spring, and a dragging door strains the opener, we check all three before we call it done.

Common questions

My door came off its track. Can I still use it?

Please do not. An off-track door can drop or jam, and running the opener against it bends the tracks and can snap a cable. Leave it where it is until it has been looked at.

Why do cables fray or snap?

Cables wear where they wind on the drum, and they rust from the inside in damp, salt-air garages near the Sound. A frayed cable is a warning worth acting on: replacing a worn cable is a smaller job than repairing a door that has already fallen.

How do I know if my rollers are worn?

Worn rollers make a door noisy, jerky, or slow to travel, and up close you may see flat spots, cracked nylon, or bent and rusted stems. Rollers that bind also pull the door out of square, which strains the opener.

How much does cable or roller repair cost?

It depends on how many parts are worn and whether the door has pulled out of alignment and needs resetting on its track. There is no flat rate, so we look at the door and give you a firm number before we start.

Let’s get that door working again.
